Where I'm From

I'm from travel and snowboarding
where my legs turned to jelly and
my face and hands would go numb

I'm from dedication to commitments
always finish work before fun

From trips to Cedar Point as a kid
each summer, and out on Oklahoma
to visit my Uncle where I'd zip over
hills on a four-wheeler

From giant family reunions where I
know only a few names, to the long
evenings before Christmas where my
sisters would insist to play board games.
